Miracles Happen Every Day – the Greatest Miracle of All
Miracles Were Not Just for Biblical Times
by Jack Wellman
There are miracles that are far greater than the parting the Red Sea (or Reed Sea as some scholars and archaeologists claim), more awesome than making the Sun stand still, more earth shattering than the Walls of Jericho falling. In fact, even human life is a miracle. But the greatest miracle of all, I believe, is the miracle of human conversion. The single greatest miracle may be the conversion of one single human soul today. And this happens thousands of times everyday.
The former alcoholic, the former drug addict, and the former homeless man…the list is endless. Not only is the miracle taking place on this inside, it is occurring on the outside of the persons life. And the impact will be felt for all eternity.
When I think back on my own life, coming from a broken home, having not even seen a picture of my father, what hope did I ever have? I was dumped by my biological mother. She had several husbands and could not find peace within her own soul. My brothers and I were beaten. We were bruised, battered, humiliated. And when I fled the coup of my aunts, I was mad. Mad at the world and I was ready to pay it back. But I really was only taking it out on myself…

When Christians Attack Christians
Jesus isn’t real. I know you like to think he is, but if you think about it, most of the reasons you have to believe in him are pretty bad. You might say its rational, offer a non-traditional, probabilistic argumentor some sort of abstruse modal one. But in the end, i think we both know it’s a bunch of malarkey. Just look at israel palestine.
You might not be an evangelical, be you probably have faith aka ignorance.
U mad?
Hello John,
I’m curious as to what brought you to my website. Is it just to ridicule others for their beliefs, or do you actually wish to engage in a serious discussion or exchange of ideas? If your answer is the former, then you are not welcome to post here; if it is the latter, then by all means, please explain to us in a calm, rational manner, why you believe Jesus is not real and that by believing in him makes me ignorant.
By stating that “Jesus isn’t real”, do you mean that he is not real in the sense of being an actual historical person, or do yhou mean that he is not real in the sense that Cristians believe that he is the Messiah and God?
If you mean the former, something that you are completely entitled to believe, then you are going against the consensus of historicle scholarship, whether Christian, secular, or other.
If you mean the latter, then I would be curious to be enlightened with the evidence you have to support your assertion.
Sincerely,
Greg West
Greg, you bring up a great point my friend. John Ankerberg’s overwhelming evidence of Jesus historicity is impossible to argue against http://www.ankerberg.com/Articles/apologetics/AP0805W2A.htm not to mention, even secular historians can not explain nor argue away Jesus’ being real even to due to multiple attestation by non-religious sources http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Historical_Jesus
This leaves no doubt whatsoever to His life, death, and resurrection being empircally established by quantifiable, measurable, and logical inference. Thank you for standing up for the truth. The truth will set you free…or it will make you really mad.
To say that there are no absolutes defies logic. How can a statement that there are no absolutes be taken seriously since this is an absolute statement in itself?
Merry Christmas to you and your wife my friend. May God richly bless you both in the coming year. What an amazing grace we have been given by God’s effectual calling: He sought me, He caught me, He bought me, He taught me, what I ought be! 🙂
Jack,
Thank you very much, my friend!. You are an inspiration to me and I appreciate your support and encouragement beyond words. I hope your congregaation realizes what a compassionate, hard working, and intelligent (I read your book; loved it!) pastor they have. I hope we will get a chance to meet in person this coming year. Merry CHRISTmas to you and yours also, and I hope you have a blessed 2011!
