The book, Seven Days That Divide the World: The Beginning According to Genesis and Science, is written by a leading Christian apologist by the name of Dr. John Lennox. Dr. John Lennox is a prominent mathematician and philosopher of science at the University of Oxford. Given his reputation as a formidable Christian scholar, he has had the opportunity of debating prominent atheists such as Michael Shermer, Christopher Hitchens, Peter Atkins, and Richard Dawkins. Given the tremendous impact he has made on the Christian community as an apologist through debates, speaking, and authorship, he has taken on the challenge of trying to clarify one of the most controversial issues contained within the Bible, the creation account in Genesis.
While there are many theists out there that could have written a book like this, I can only think of a handful of theists that I could see writing a book on this subject that could express the primary points in a manner that is informative, easily understood, and theologically sound. Dr. Lennox is one of those people. He wrote this book with the intention of simply informing layman on issues related to beginnings as discussed in Genesis. These beginnings found in Genesis include the origin of the universe, earth, plant life, animal life, and humanity. This is a difficult topic to tackle regardless of your academic credentials…
