The charge of hypocrisy doesn’t place the Christian out of step with the biblical description of humanity.  The world is broken, and faith is not a quick fix.  If the Bible is true, you would expect hypocrisy to still plague those who believe.  But hypocrisy isn’t solely a characteristic of believers.  It’s a characteristic of humanity.  And rather than nullifying faith, hypocrisy is simply a confirmation of the fact that we need a savior.  To judge someone who believes, we must either deny your own humanity, or hold others to judgmental standards that we ourselves don’t follow.  —James W.
