God’s Not Dead Resources for Pastors, Teachers, and Youth Leaders from Ratio Christi
God’s Not Dead premieres in theaters across the country on March 21.
This movie, largely aimed at a Christian audience, showcases the huge need for apologetics in the venue (secular college) where RC operates. It is a wakeup call to the church at large.

God’s Not Dead is a fictional account of one person’s story. Themes running throughout are boldness, courage, and the objective defense of the truth of Christianity. The various sub plots emphasize the importance of being willing to stand alone where necessary. Furthermore, the main character of the movie, Josh, takes the time to study to get his points set up for his next encounter with the professor. It shows the importance of serious study as part of Christian discipleship. Will this movie convince the staunch atheist? Probably not. Josh doesn’t always have all the answers or the perfect answer. Viewers will disagree with some specific points Josh made in his apologetics presentation. Fine. The point isn’t to find all the perfect answers in one movie. The point is to push every believer to seek answers and to be willing to share them in a public way. The most important thing is to stand up for Christ. There is no formula on the approach.
Apologists, students, and other Christians can all use this as an opportunity to let people know that opposition is a real aspect of today’s society. We hope the movie will be a wake-up call and bring awareness of the challenges students face on campus.
