Ratio Christi on God’s Not Dead 2

God’s Not Dead 2 premieres in theaters across the country on April 1st, 2016.

This movie, largely aimed at a Christian audience, showcases the need for religious freedom in the public high school arena in light of increasing hostilities toward Christianity. It is a wakeup call to the church at large and highlights the need for apologetics.

God’s Not Dead 2 is a fictional account of one teacher’s story standing up for her religious freedom in the public high schools. However, the film scenario isn’t far fetched. At the end of the movie there is a list of actual cases in U.S. courts that demonstrate how much bias there is against Christians in public life and learning institutions. Themes running throughout are boldness, courage, and the objective defense of the truth of Christianity. The film features apologists Lee Strobel and J. Warner Wallace playing roles as expert witnesses in the trial. Evidence for the historical Jesus and His death and resurrection are discussed in the court room scenes.

Apologists, students, churches, and all Christians can use this as an opportunity to let people know that opposition to Christianity is a very real part of today’s life for high school teachers in many public schools. We hope the movie will be a wake-up call and bring awareness of the challenges students and faculty face on campus.
