“Apologetics and Ratio Christi Kept Me from Leaving Christianity”

Matthew Adamson is the current president of the Ratio Christi chapter at the University of Alabama Huntsville (UAH). This aerospace engineering major says he likely would have abandoned Christianity if he had not discovered apologetics through our chapter there.

“Apologetics and RC saved me from leaving the faith after high school,” he says. “I had experienced a couple years of extreme doubt and had decided that if I couldn’t find any answers with this club then I would be done with Christianity.”

Q: When did you find Christ as your Savior?

A: I came to know Christ as my Savior during a Vacation Bible School in 2004.

Q: If you were in a high school church youth group, how much did you learn there about the Christian faith and reasons to believe?

A: In my high school youth group I learned a great deal about the Christian faith, however I had never really heard of why we believe what we believe, and this led to me almost leaving the faith after high school.

Q:  How did you get interested in apologetics, and then how did you get involved with RC?

A: I found out about apologetics at the same time that I found out about RC. I met the director at University of Alabama in Huntsville’s RC group at the club fair during orientation my freshman year…
