Help Us Kick Off the First-Ever Apologetics Awareness Week!

The Greek word apologia means to give a reason or defense for what one believes. As the apostle Peter says in 1 Peter 3:15-16: “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect…” (NIV)
As a general rule, the Church is largely unaware of apologetics. The majority of Christians are ill-equipped to defend their faith in modern culture, so they lack the confidence to share their faith and the knowledge to do it effectively. As a result, young people are leaving the church at an alarming rate while churches and their members are straying from a biblical worldview.
With Christianity viewed by most people as anti-intellectual and evangelism becoming increasingly difficult, what is the Church to do? Apologetics can help solve both of these issues since it entails sharing the history, science, and philosophy which supports our faith and provides insurmountable evidence for biblical truth.
The purpose of Apologetics Awareness Week – September 10-17, 2017 – is to unite the apologetics community in promoting rational faith in the church, Christian schools, and throughout the culture. You can help with this effort by networking intentionally, particularly through social media during this week. And don’t forget the power of personal, face-to-face communication, especially with your church’s leadership.
