Tip #3: Pray for opportunities to share.

My name is Jordan Apodaca, and I’m a volunteer content creator with Engage 360. Today I want to encourage you to make 2019 a year in which you pray more than ever before for opportunities to share the Gospel with others.

Pray for opportunities to share.

God tells us in Ephesians 2:10 that we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, so that we may walk in them. From eternity past, God has prepared good works so that you, his workmanship, may walk in them. You don’t have to create your own good works – God planned them for you already! — all you have to do is pray that God would open your eyes so you can see the good works he has prepared for you. What good works should you be waiting to see? All kinds of them! But the greatest work he has prepared for us is the work of making Christ known in the world, of being salt and light in the world.

The image that comes to my mind is Elisha in 2 Kings 6. Speaking to his servant: “16 He said, “Do not be afraid, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” 17 Then Elisha prayed and said, “O LORD, please open his eyes that he may see.” So the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw, and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.”

Pray that God would open your eyes to see opportunities to share the Gospel, and pray for courage to take those opportunities when he shows them to you.

1. Pray for open doors to talk to unsaved close friends and family members.

2. Pray for opportunities to share the Gospel in everyday life.

3. And pray that God would lead you into a community of believers where you can share the Gospel together. Sharing the Gospel by yourself can be tough, but it’s much more exciting and doable in a team.
